Work From Home Toolkits: The Power Of Yahoo! Answers

By admin On April 12, 2010 1 Comment

One of your priorities and obligations as an Internet marketer and a site owner is to make sure a significant amount of traffic, and not just any kind of traffic, but if possible, targeted traffic to be exact, leads to your official website. So do whatever you must do, link building, marketing, search engine optimization, anything that can help you get that traffic your website deserves. If you can make use of Internet tools and resources that are free yet very much effective, then that’s great. How about Yahoo! Answers? Do you think you can generate some good traffic for your work from home through that?

For those who are not yet familiar with Yahoo! Answers, it is a question-and-answer site launched by the search engine giant, Yahoo!, back in 2005 where users or members of the Yahoo! community are allowed to submit questions they need answers from and, at the same time, answer queries of other users. If you have burning questions in mind, you can post there or if you like spending some time helping people out with their questions, then you can do so in that site.

How It Works
You can add your website link into your profile details or every time you respond to a question, you can opt to include that site address of yours provided it’s relevant to the question asked. Let’s say your work from home is more into affiliate marketing. Surely, there are people who have some questions about affiliate products and services like what sells the most at these current times, how to start with an affiliate business, who are the most trusted affiliate marketers out there, what affiliate sites to go to, what programs to try, and perhaps a dozen more. If you are able to answer the queries of those people, you leave an impression that you are good and very much professional in what you do. This gives them more reason to check out your website or Internet business.

Furthermore, if there’s something you want to ask, don’t hesitate to leave a question. People should also see that you are not always that perfect. Why? It’s because this assures them that you are human as well and not just some kind of automated software posing as a legitimate individual. Users don’t like that.

Additional Tips To Remember
One. You want to build that reputation wherein folks see you as a professional, right? Then, get your Work From Home Toolkits: The Power Of Yahoo! Answers, work from home, yahoo! answersgrammar and spelling in check every time you respond to a question. This may just feel like a common reminder, but come to think of it. No matter how good your answers are, if they noticed a lot of spelling and grammar errors in most of your replies, they will start to doubt and the last thing you need for your work from home are potential customers having doubts about what you can really do and offer to them.

Two. Reply to questions with relevant answers. Provide solutions, not further or additional questions. If you don’t know the answer, move on to the next question. Leave it to someone who knows. Don’t make up some answers for people need facts. Moreover, an empty response, one that doesn’t really answer the question at hand, is a big no. Most importantly, avoid spamming. Make sure that you don’t come off as a spammer. Users hate spamming and they will do everything in their power to get rid of those who do so.

No doubt that a lot of individuals who work from home have benefited from the power brought by Yahoo! Answers. It’s really one effective way to show people how good you are in your line of expertise. By doing so, you gain traffic and you gain customers.

There, you can also sell and promote those selected products of yours. All you need to do is follow carefully their guidelines. This goes out to Squidoo users as well and also for the bloggers. Some Of The Best Ways To Leave Comments In Social Media Sites

By admin On March 29, 2010 No Comments

Ahhh. Social media. There’s no online breakthrough like social media. Instead of being just a place for social interaction over the Internet, these social media sites also became an instrument in delivering news, sharing important files and providing the public a sweet escape from reality through their nice features, applications, games, etc. No wonder so many individuals have wholeheartedly welcomed social media into their lives. However, for Internet marketers and folks who work from home, these sites serve as helpful tools in generating traffic to their sites, promoting their products and exposing their brands to the world.

Indeed, if we look back at the recently concluded decade, including this, one years later, it would be safe to say that social media represents the face of the Internet in these times. While an average online user may use social media in the simplest of ways, online marketers like us take these so-called “new media” to a higher level by including them on our marketing campaign and advertising strategies. Why not? Just look at how effective these social networks, microblogging services, video sharing and social bookmarking sites are.

One way of doing social media marketing is leaving comments in those social media sites, much like commenting on blogs. This particular task may sound so easy, but it’s not simply dropping comments just like that. There are some things you need to put into consideration. In the following paragraphs, you will find tips and ideas regarding some of the best ways to leave comments in social media sites.

“The early bird catches the worm.”
The strategy here is to be the first to comment on a certain post or submission. This mostly applies to social bookmarking sites such as Reddit, Propeller and Digg where submitted or bookmarked links can be liked or voted up and at the same time can be disliked or voted down by the site’s members. Along with that feature, you can also leave comments discussing that bookmark. If you are the first one to do so, it will be quite beneficial to you. One benefit is that you will be able to initiate a healthy conversation or exchange of ideas. Come to think of it. People will set their eyes first on your name and comment. There’s a huge possibility that they will click through and check your social media profile out because of that.

“Never give anybody reason to vote you out.”
If you are watching the reality series, Survivor, you would understand the quote above. It’s one of the important strategies players in that show follow, which can be applied to social media commenting as well. Your comments should remain positive most of the time so as not to give off bad energy to the post and ignite flaming discussions. The very least you can do is stay neutral off a heated argument. You can’t just give these people a reason to hate you. Remember, you are here to promote your work from home. How will you do that if you have gained such ugly reputation?

“One raindrop raises the sea.”
Since social media sites are mostly for social interaction and they exist because of the community, you need to comment as if you were bringing something to the table. Simply put, contribute to the discussion. Comments like “Nice one!” or “Great!” don’t add much to the conversation and are not the kind of commenting you should be going for.

Yes, the power of social media is very much influential that a simple commenting activity can do wonders for one’s work from home. However, before you enjoy the benefits and opportunities these social media sites offer, keep in mind the responsibilities that go along with it as well because this new media cannot only take you to the top, it can also bring you and your business down if used improperly.

Some Tips For A Successful Social Media Marketing

By admin On March 23, 2010 No Comments

Social media really has become the new face of media and the Internet and it is composed of today’s highly famous online rendezvous sites and some great tools for ordinary users and marketers alike. Now that social media has taken the whole world by storm from hard news to entertainment to business marketing and of course, work from home, one can only imagine what more these so-called new media may be able to bring to the table as we start a new decade. So if you are one of those folks who use social media marketing in their online business, you need to really make sure you are doing things right because success in this type of marketing is not that easy to achieve.

As an online marketer, you know that social media marketing, or even just social media, is such a learning curve you’d feel it’s high school all over again and if you don’t get it right, it can break your chances of having a profitable business or work from home. That’s why many of us are constantly looking out for tips, reading articles, researching and keeping an eye on every source of information we have not just to get a scoop but also to learn and be informed. You never know. You could be missing out on something that may be significant to make your social media marketing efforts a success.

One thing you should remember so that your efforts in promoting your business or products through social media will really pay off is that you can’t just rely on one form of social media. This doesn’t mean you have to join and make use every social networking, bookmarking and microblogging site there is. You just have to find those few effective ones to help you expose your brand and generate traffic to your official website. You will know which ones to go for based on that site’s popularity, number of active members, search engine ranking and how often it is being visited.

The reason for joining other equally effective social media sites rather than focusing on just one is because people have their own preferences when it comes to which site they want to be a member of. So, let’s say, if you only use Facebook for your social media marketing campaign, you will surely miss out on a huge number of folks on Twitter who do not have a Facebook account. A bunch of social media on your sleeves definitely won’t hurt as long as they’re that good.

Also, you have to keep communication lines open between you and your customers. Surely, they will be asking questions, posting comments, providing feedback and stuff like that. You don’t want to leave an impression that you are simply ignoring them, do you? Another reminder: Don’t let your personal frustrations and problems get in the way of your social media marketing. You may want to share some things about yourself and somewhat establish a more personal connection, but there are stuff that should not find their way through social media posts and comments or else, your work from home may be doomed. Just know your limitations and be careful with your posts.

Taking A Closer Look At Facebook Ads Targeting Options

By admin On March 8, 2010 No Comments

There has been quite a buzz concerning Facebook Ads recently and it’s not just about how insanely easy and effective it is, but the rave involving it’s pretty damn awesome targeting options, which some Internet marketers believe will put other online advertising tools and venues to the ultimate test, has also been the hot topic in the blogosphere lately. Of course, if you belong to the group that’s into work from home, you will definitely have the urge to check it out. See if all the hype is true and if it will amount to something beneficial for you and your online business.

First things first. If you don’t have any idea what Facebook Ads is, you may want to visit facebook.com/advertising for more information. For those who have the knowledge already, you know why Facebook is a great place to pursue online advertising. This is because of the fact that this top social networking site is a huge database of user information which was given and entrusted by the users themselves. Based on these specific details, developers of Facebook Ads have been able to come up with some really nice and effective options to target people. Here are five of those targeting options the site has:

By Keywords
One of the targeting options in Facebook Ads that is familiar to a lot of marketers is through keywords. Remember those details you put in the Personal Information part of your profile where you enumerate your activities, hobbies, favorites and interests? That’s mostly where the system will hunt for information if an advertiser chooses to target through keywords. Let’s say you want to create an ad in Facebook to promote your cosmetic products. You would want to use keywords like “cosmetics”,” make-up”, “lipstick”, “powder”, “creams”, “perfumes” and “lotions”. When you specify these keywords in the targeting options, your ads will appear to Facebook users who said in their profiles that they are interested in cosmetic products or have put “cosmetics” and other related terms in their lists of favorites. Right on the dot!

By Age
Facebook Ads lets you target customers according to age. This is beneficial to any work from home wherein people’s age is a factor hugely considered. If your target customers are those with ages of 40 and above, you won’t be disappointed because there really are individuals of that age bracket using Facebook. While it’s safe to assume that most people who are on Facebook are quite young, one should take note that the site now reportedly has over 400 million active users. So let’s say the age bracket you are targeting is only one percent of the total population of Facebook. That is still huge considering one percent of 400 million is a whopping 4 million. What a whole lot of potential customers to start with!

By Birthdays
Something unique with Facebook Ads is that you can actually target people on their birthdays. If you want your ads to appear to people who were born, for example, on the 14th day of February, you can with Facebook advertising. Again, with over 400 million users and still counting, you can bet that there will be thousands, even millions, of individuals sharing the same birthday. That’s already more than enough possible buyers or followers that you can handle.

By Location
Also included in Facebook Ads targeting options is location. You can enter a country and sort by state or province or by city. So if you want to target customers on Los Angeles, California alone or people from London or Tokyo, no problem. That’s possible. The key here is to make sure your ads appear to the right folks that you are targeting. That way, you know that it’s all worth the cost, effort and time.

By Education
Targeting through people’s information about their education is one of the biggest options you can enjoy on Facebook Ads. You can target those in high school, in college, have already graduated or just everyone. However, if you think that’s all there is to it, then you’re wrong. You can also specify the name of the college, university or high school and even people’s majors when they graduated. Heck, you can even target people according to their actual graduation year. If you want your ads to be shown to folks who said through their profile that they graduated between the years 1999 and 2003, then go for it because Facebook lets you do that.

Other targeting options include workplace, connections, gender, relationship status, etc. Always use these things properly to get the best results out of your Facebook advertising. That will, in turn, help your work from home grow and get nearer to your goals.

Work From Home Toolkits: Creating Facebook Ads Easily

By admin On March 4, 2010 8 Comments

Maybe you’re not very much familiar with Facebook Ads just yet, but there’s a good chance that you know what Facebook is. Heck, you may even have a Facebook account already. For Internet marketers and the good folks who work from home, Facebook is one of those social media sites they use to spread the word about their business, get targeted traffic to their website and find other marketers as well. Now, there’s more reason for us to love this famous social network and that is because of the so-called Facebook Advertising breakthrough.

There may be some who are pretty much loyal to Google’s advertising tools – Google AdSense and Google AdWords – who will give Facebook Ads a cynical glance. Yet, that doesn’t mean that the latter won’t last long in the online advertising industry. In fact, at the moment, Facebook Ads are gaining more and more support from direct marketers and others who are disgruntled with Google’s services and are seeking refuge in Facebook. Some would even think that creating these Facebook Ads won’t be too easy. The next paragraphs in this article will show you otherwise.

If you would like to set up an ad in Facebook, just go to facebook.com/advertising. Use your personal existing account to log in so that you can easily manage your ads or just click “Create an Ad”. You will then be redirected to a page that lets you design an ad. This is now the first step of the whole process. The next thing you have to do is enter the URL or the website address where you want to send those people to once they click the ad. This could be the official site of your online business or work from home. After that, decide and type in the proper title for your ad. This will become a “clickable” headline later on. Remember that you only have 25 characters to use here so think very carefully what to write. It should be quick, catchy and interesting.

Designing your Facebook Ads won’t be complete without the accompanying body text, content or message that will further entice or encourage folks to click and that relevant image to be uploaded. Just make sure that the image to be used is yours and that you are not violating any copyright laws or such for uploading it. Before you click “Continue” to move on to the second step, check and review first the details you have provided and see if there’s something you’d like to change or edit.

Next step is all about setting up your target demographic. This is why some marketers and individuals who work from home are crazy about Facebook Ads because it lets you specifically target your customers unlike other online advertising venues. There are eleven different ways to do the said targeting. One is through location wherein you specify the country, state, province or city in which the people you want to target should be in or come from. Another is by age, birthday and sex, whether male or female. You can also target your customers through keywords and information regarding their education, where they graduate, what educational level they have achieved, the works. Targeting through workplaces, relationship status, interests, language used and different connections is also possible.

Another great thing with the targeting options of Facebook Ads is that you can have a lot of combinations to go for. Not only that, Facebook can show you the actual number of people or size of your target audience as well. That’s a huge help for your work from home. So let’s go on the third step, Campaigns and Pricing, which is where you will set up your budget and campaign. After that, the last thing to do is placing your order by supplying your credit card information. Then, you just have to wait for your Facebook Ads to show up.

3 Great Ways To Use Twitter For Your Work From Home

By admin On March 1, 2010 No Comments

If you ask someone if he or she knows or has heard about Twitter, you will rarely get a “no” answer. This microblogging service is so much popular all over the globe that even those people who don’t work from home or use the Internet a lot have some idea what it is one way or another. Yes, Twitter has captured the hearts and minds of many especially us, online marketers.

Most, if not all, marketers have a Twitter account and know how to tweet. The question, however, is if they know how to tweet effectively. Several tips, videos and articles teaching folks how to use Twitter as productively as possible have been dished out online. In the following few paragraphs, you will learn three great ways to use Twitter to help your online business or work from home grow closer to the goals you’ve set:

For Brand Awareness
If you are a newbie in doing work from home and at the early stages of your business, this is one of those things you really need to do – exposing your brand or your products to the world. With millions of Twitter users and even those who don’t use the service but can still see your tweets as long as you don’t make your posts private, this top social media site is indeed a really great tool to utilize because it’s like the vast ocean where you can possibly catch many different kinds of sea creatures. Nonetheless, this so-called brand awareness is not only for “first time” marketers because even though you do have quite a huge number of followers or customers, there are still other people who know nothing about you or your brand. So keep on tweeting to get them on board too.

For Marketing Purposes
Everyone knows how effective and useful Twitter is in reaching various individuals online and getting their precious attention. If you are also looking for ways to drive traffic to your site or blogs, you won’t be disappointed with Twitter. Advertising has become the number one purpose of this “bird-themed” website for Internet marketers, bloggers and other members of the online community. The key here is to get more and more followers. So what you need to do is show them what’s interesting that’s going on in your work from home and how they can be benefited from what you can offer to them.

For Helping Out
Come to think of it. Helping out others can exactly help your business soar to greater heights. Why? Well, it’s because if you provide solutions to your followers or help them find answers to their questions, they will realize how kind, professional and knowledgeable you are. That realization alone will be reason enough for them to become loyal to you, recommend your work from home to others and tweet positively about you and your online business. Somehow, it’s just another form of marketing.

The effective use of tweeting is not only limited to these three great ways. Twitter hosts a lot more opportunities, maybe even more than you can think of, under its wings. This just means that you can do so much with it to help your work from home get nearer to success. Just use Twitter right and you will be chirping with glee once the rewards roll in.

Work From Home Toolkits: The Buzz About Google Buzz

By admin On February 19, 2010 No Comments

It seems like the social media industry and the blogging community won’t be taking any rest this 2010. The blogosphere, the social networks, the microblogging services, the search engines and the social bookmarking sites are ready and pumped up to continue their battle for supremacy at the start of this decade. Most of these social media has influenced Internet marketing and has been used in running online businesses. They have been a significant part of our work from home especially in terms of traffic generation, sales and advertising. Today, as the year progresses, we get to see a lot of new websites, services and online resources that may continue to shape the world of Internet and technology.

Just a week ago, the search engine giant Google introduced its latest innovation and contribution to social media – the Google Buzz. Shortly after, it became the talk of the town and boy did it create a buzz? Google is now in the hot seat mainly because of criticisms, complaints and privacy issues that are being brought up to it by certain individuals or groups of people. However, before we get into those controversies, let’s take a look first at what Google Buzz is, how it works and what are its key features.

Google Buzz is described as both a messaging and social networking tool integrated into Gmail, Google’s web-based e-mail program. Some would say it’s like putting Facebook and Twitter features into Gmail. That means users are now able to share different kind of stuff from photos to videos to links, etc. They can post status messages and comments as well, just like what you can do in most social networking sites. There is also a mobile version of Google Buzz for those who are always on the go and would want to access their Gmail accounts through their phones and other mobile devices.

Some of the key features of Google Buzz that Internet users, including those people who work from home, may enjoy are auto-following, real-time sharing experience, inbox integration, excellent viewing of photos and watching of videos, the choice of sharing privately or publicly your posts, and others. In the mobile version, you can “geotag” your posts, which means that your current location or geographical information will be added to whatever you are posting – status messages, photos, etc. – after Google Buzz has confirmed where you exactly are. Google Maps is also integrated with the mobile version and that you can see what folks are buzzing near you through conversation bubbles over the map.

Although Google Buzz may look so fine and dandy and may become a potentially helpful tool for Internet marketers and folks who work from home, it has already been caught up in sticky situations and controversies in less than two weeks after its official launch. Most of this upset is due to the privacy issuesWork From Home Toolkits: The Buzz About Google Buzz, work from home, Google, Google Buzz surrounding Google’s new baby. Apparently, some people have expressed concerns about how Google Buzz threatens the privacy of Gmail users. A woman even filed a complaint. Privacy groups are keeping a close eye too and others look forward to investigating the whole thing. These privacy concerns have already prompted Google to make some changes in Buzz like the auto-follow feature, which was modified and became auto-suggest. The option to turn off Google Buzz or completely delete your Buzz profile has been made a lot easier and was one of the major changes as well.

Aside from those issues, Google also received some harsh criticisms from other huge Internet players namely Microsoft and Yahoo. Some people say that the service is just a rip-off of Facebook, Twitter and Foursquare, and shouldn’t be patronized. Other individuals describe it as lame and unnecessary. Nonetheless, despite all these that have happened in recent days, Google is still firm and continuing to roll out the Buzz feature in Gmail. How Google Buzz will fair off with the rest of the social media frenzy, it’s still too early to tell. But if it happens to be useful for our work from home, then why not?
