Scams And All That

By admin On August 14, 2008 6 Comments

Articles on work from home plus blogs about making money online with some sites, e-mails, etc. tackling the same Internet marketing and online business topics have thrived the web in our modern days. Unfortunately, with these breakthroughs and opportunities come the dreaded and most hated online scams. Heads up! One needs to be vigilant and observant enough to hunt down or even just spot at a glance these merciless termites.

If you talk about online scam, one thing that comes into mind is people fooling and taking advantage of their fellowmen and stealing cash from them through some tactics and techniques that can deceive everyone. An alarming increase of online scams have been confirmed and directly proportional to that is the higher rate of people who fall victims of those scams. If you think about it carefully, it’s somehow a battle of wits. The persons responsible for these online scams damn know what they are doing and what they want. Sometimes, these are also people who are smart enough to be your boss, supervisor or colleague. The difference is that they use their intelligence to outwit those who will likely fall for their trap for the sake of easy and fast income. The key is to fight them back or be one or two steps ahead of them. They could be drawing schemes to fool you while you’ve already figured out what it is and you’re plotting to catch them and turn the tables around.

This is just sad because these scams just prove that if there are men who try very hard to live a decent life and earn an honest living, there are just those who couldn’t care less. Yet, not all in the work from home industry are scams or scammers. Believe it or not, there are actually legitimate opportunities online that you can put your trust into. You’ll just have to exert extra effort in determining those who are fake and those who are not. You need to learn how to spot the scams apart from the real ones.

Having a healthy skepticism may do the job. Add to that is a research thoroughly done and things taken into consideration with deep thinking.

Online scams will stay as long as online businesses and work from home will continue walking the face of the earth. We can’t totally delete them from our lives but we can make it hard for them to do the unspeakable things they are doing.

5 Ways to Sniff Out Online Scams

By admin On July 10, 2008 4 Comments

Scams are everywhere like a psychopath stalking you in the middle of the night waiting for you to unluckily cross his way and hit you hard or suck the very last breath of life out of you. Same goes with the online world and you’re no safer for they are definitely out there, waiting, hiding, sneaking. However, while they are still waiting for you to fall for their booby trap, you can either resort to two things. One, do nothing about it and just pray hard you won’t become a victim, sorta wishful thinking type of approach. Or two, continue reading this article and learn ways on how you can sense these fake bastards even at a distance. That way, you can protect your work from home from being jeopardized.

Why y’all so pushy?
“This offer is for a limited time only.” Oh, please. Isn’t this a classic? It has been a marketing strategy for ages to somewhat urge and rush people to buy or give in to these so-called once-in-a-lifetime offers and, in most cases, it works. This has been adopted by scammers to feast on the principle of grabbing opportunities for they may not pass by again. Although some of these offers are legit and a number of trusted companies actually use these, we really just can’t help to keep our guards up. Solution? Do not immediately give in to these promotions. Know more about it. Start digging deeper. Try to uncover some dark, hidden secrets if there are any. Search for remarks of people who have tried it. Then decide if it’s worth taking the risks.

I must be lucky (or unlucky).
There is also this one crack on limited slots being offered and you have that very last chance to get it. You must be so lucky. Or not. Wow! Of all the billions of human beings that walk the face of this planet, you were one of the chosen few. Seriously. I wonder if they really spend some time singling out a handful of people from this world’s population. Or they just send the message out to everyone and hope someone gullible enough will bite.

First cash, first served. Wait, what?
Hell, you know the situation. They say they would give you tips or lessons or methods to earn huge sum of money online and be successful in your work from home. That it’s so simple, fast and easy, all you need to do is sign up and pay a ridiculous amount for registration or membership fee and you can get all these. And once you did, you find yourself receiving a lot of crap and something that’s actually offered free on the Internet. Damn!

Won a lottery? I don’t think so.
Everybody dreams of waking up someday and become an instant millionaire. That they don’t have to stretch a single muscle to earn and make a living. This is another classic of online scams – the overnight success. And since a lot of people are either lazy or naive or both, they become favorite targets. Success in work from home requires hard work and patience and just don’t come in seconds or minutes like winning in a lottery. That doesn’t work like that. If it does, then we’re all freaking and filthy rich right now.

Skeptic critic is a basic.
Skepticism will always be a part of any business because whenever there’s business, there will always be monkey business that comes along with it. So anything that it’s too good to be true deserves a skeptic eye. You can’t be too careful nowadays. It’s hard to trust immediately in this modern world where crazy people are doing crazy things for crazy reasons. It’s alright to be doubtful and questioning, just not too much. There’s a thin line between being skeptic and being pessimistic.

Your work from home is prone to these scams all the time but if you are backed up with appropriate knowledge and skills, you will less likely bumped into these Internet hazards and if you did, chances of you getting out unscratched is paramount.
