How to Deal with Fear of Failure on Work From Home

By admin On July 28, 2008 Under Work From Home

One must remember that failure is as real in any business not just in your work from home as success is. As you embark on any job, whether it’s a regular 9-5 or the kind that’s similar to online marketing, there will always be risks to take. What you must do is to evaluate your self, your competence and your expertise in any field you plan to enter.

For the online money-making industry, you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to succeed let alone start. As long as you are determined, you have sufficient knowledge and skills and you’re willing to take the risks, then you’ll be just fine.

Here are few points to ponder whenever you get struck by that particular level of uncertainty during your work from home:

It’s Just Natural
Fear of failure is just natural for any entrepreneur because they are, at the same time, hoping for success. But that doesn’t stop them from doing what they do and what they should do. It’s important to have faith and confidence in yourself. Otherwise, that would be your first and biggest failure. And you weren’t even starting yet.

Make a Match
After you’ve assessed yourself and what you can do, find the type of online career that you think you’ll be most interested and productive at. Some say, in work from home, sky’s the limit. Somehow, it is, since almost everything you need is readily available in the Internet. There’s always something there for you. You just need to look closer.

Take Risks if You Must
As what have pointed out earlier, risks are just around the corner. You encounter them almost everyday. Keep in mind that there are things worth the risk. Some are not worth it. One needs to develop a sense of judgment and a little instinct. However, these can be improved after a series of experiences.

Kill that Paranoia
While it pays to be a little skeptic on any business you involved with, there’s no room for too much of it. Whoever heard of a pessimistic online marketer anyway? Negative thinking gets you nowhere. Yes, stakes are higher but nurturing thoughts of how things might go wrong and getting it into your head like an addiction is a complete no-no. This kind of thinking works best in your strategic planning and business evaluation only where you point out possible threats, pitfalls and weaknesses that you must work hard to avoid. It’s just a matter of perspective.

You’re in Control
Ever experienced people telling you straight to your face that you will not get it or end up losing it? Well, they seem to be so scary and their words very frightening. Nah! You’re in control of your work from home, not them. It’s alright to seek advice and opinion from others but at the end of the day, it’s you who make the last decision.

For every opportunity lies an accompanying risk or even more, the more reason for you to do your best, to be very careful and to be brave enough to face the challenges in your work from home despite the possibilities of failure.

[...] Some people start a topic like, “Who here wants to say something about blah-blah?” or “I’m surprised no one talks about blah-blah. Why is that so?” Not really big of a violation but if you have to say something or start a topic, it’s better off if you give some of your views or points on the subject matter and later on ask others of their opinion rather than sound like you’re urging others to talk about it first. Some of your fellow forum members might be annoyed by that kind of behavior. You might not know it but that could be a big ouch on your work from home. [...]
