The Work From Home Insider: Blogging Appropriately
Responsible blogging should be observed by everyone especially those who work from home or have a career in Internet marketing. For one, online entrepreneurs have an impression to make, a reputation to build and an image to protect and they can’t do that if they’re not blogging appropriately. Since this whole Internet marketing stuff involves people’s trusts and customer’s expectations, you need to show them how responsible and professional you are in any work from home endeavors you have like, say, blogging. It would be also healthy for the blogosphere if most bloggers practice blogging appropriately.
Though there are no exact rules or written regulations on what to say or include on one’s blog, we follow our morales and ethics as we continue on blogging appropriately. These are just a few of those unspoken rules we’ve been talking about:
Check Accuracy Of Information
There’s a reason why researching and other means of information-gathering are very much essential in our work from home. This is to verify facts and details we’re about to share to the world and also to learn things we know little or nothing about. However, since most blogging sites are free and accessible, there are folks who can’t help themselves but post anything without even bothering to check the details and stuff. The result therefore is so much confusion and misunderstanding. It’s simply unforgivable to do this specially if you’re an Internet marketer. Do you really want to trash your work from home like that? Focus on blogging appropriately if the answer is no.
Moreover, if you are including photos, audio files or videos on your blog posts, it would be great if you add up even just a little caption or description because not everybody are able to catch what you’re trying to say or inform with those photos or videos alone. It would be a very helpful add-on to your blog.
Avoid Damaging People Through Your Blog Posts
People tend to just blog away because they know they can and that they are protected by such anonymity in the Internet. Many of them go way overboard and lash out on their fellow bloggers, celebrities and other folks. For those who work from home for a living, this is so sick and total opposite of blogging appropriately. As much as possible, be careful when you use, refer or mention names of individuals and talk about them in your blog. If you’re here to work from home and you’re blogging as part of that job, then you know better not to violate a person’s privacy or hurt someone’s feelings. Make those blogs of yours productive and not controversial.
Take Full Responsibility For Your Blogging Actions
We are not perfect and sometimes we commit mistakes. That also happens in your blogging activities. So if there’s an error on your part, it would be best to recognize it, apologize if necessary and immediately work on making it right. Also, if there are certain individuals who argue with your posts and ideas, you shouldn’t go ballistic on them in an instant. Instead, handle the situation properly, discuss your views, opinions and differences in a professional manner. Who knows? Both of you might learn something from each other and a sound argument could be helpful to your blogging and work from home.
